As suggested by the title, this option works only when Windows is started or restarted. It will not work when you wake or unlock the computer, log on via command line, or perform other LogonExpert actions.
With this option enabled, you will only see a black screen on Windows startup. There will be no Ctrl+Alt+Del requests, Windows update progress, or name of the user logging on. Here is what you will observe:
Note that the black screen will revert to the Windows logon interface in the following cases:
During a multi-user logon, the Windows logon interface may blink for a moment. This depends on the hardware, Windows version and settings, and the number of users.
The black screen can be customized with a picture of your choice.
To set the picture, you need to copy the image file you want to display into the folder where LogonExpert is installed. The default installation path is C:\Program Files\Softros Systems\LogonExpert.
The file must have one of the following extensions: .png, .jpg, .jpeg, .jxr, or .gif, and one of the following names: centered, fit, or stretched.
The image will be displayed according to its name:
Centered: The image is not resized and will be placed in the center of the screen.
Fit: The image is resized proportionally to fit the screen as much as possible while keeping the entire picture visible. Black borders may appear on the sides, depending on the screen and image ratio.
Stretched: The image is resized to fill the entire screen. Portions of the image may be cut off, depending on the screen and image ratio.
